Concerts are held the 1st Saturday of every month at Lynches River County Park, near Florence, SC. Jammers play into the late evening under the southern skies on the banks of the Lynches River. Two festivals—the spring and fall festivals are all day events. The spring festival is usually held in April and the fall festival in October. Events include an indoor concert featuring area bands. Outdoor is an informal gathering of local musicians of various skills who jam together, playing and singing traditional bluegrass songs. Bluegrass is rich in traditional folk and gospel songs. Come out and join us! If you play an instrument, bring it along and join the fun.

Bluegrass on the Waccamaw began about thirteen years ago (1996) as an idea between two friends. Their thoughts were to provide a "World Class Bluegrass Music Show" and use the setting of the old "Peanut Warehouse" on the waterfront in downtown Conway, S.C. The ticket prices at the major bluegrass festivals were rising to the point that an average (?) person with a family found it very expensive to attend. It was then decided to make this program "Free To The Public" After quite a bit of thought and planning, this idea was put into effect.

On May 17th of 1997 the first "Bluegrass on the Waccamaw" show was set in motion and the rest is history for downtown Conway. Major bluegrass bands performed the first year and each year since then. Some of the Premier bands include IIIrd Tyme Out, The Grascals, The Larry Stephenson Band, Grasstowne, J.D. Crowe & The New South, David Parmeley & Continental Divide, (Bluegrass Cardinals Reunion), Baucom, Bibey & Blueridge, The United States Navy Band, Country Current, The Lewis Family, The James King Band, The Reno Brothers, Ronnie Reno & The Reno Tradition, Charlie Waller & The Country Gentlemen, Randy Waller & The Country Gentlemen, Mountain Heart, The Circuit Riders, The Stevens Sisters, Lou Reid & Carolina, Sally Jones & the Sidewinders, The Deep River Band (From England), Dry Branch Fire Squad, Junior Sisk & Rambler's Choice, Jeanette Williams & Clearwater, The Chapmans, The Snyder Family Band, The Gena Britt Band, and The Bluegrass Strangers.
